Paul McCartney Lined Up Dave Grohl’s Surgery After He Broke His Leg
Before the Foo Fighters and before Nirvana, Dave Grohl was a kid who grew up wholly inspired by The Beatles. Since his rise to rock stardom over the decades, Grohl and Paul McCartney have worked together in various capacities, most recently on the Foos’ new album, Concrete and Gold. The two have formed a solid relationship and now Grohl has revealed it was McCartney who came to his aid after Grohl broke his leg after taking a hard fall at a concert in Sweden in June 2015.
Revealed during a interview Grohl said “Paul McCartney and his family basically set up my entire surgery in London after I broke my leg. It still blows my mind. I wouldn’t be playing music if it wasn’t for Paul McCartney because I learned how to play guitar with Beatles songbooks and playing along to Beatles records. But I also would not be walking right now if it was not for Paul McCartney. He knows some good f–king doctors,”
Ever the road warrior, Grohl continued to tour with the Foo Fighters after breaking his leg. The frontman was seated in a massive throne featuring an array of guitars while he still managed to dial into a high-energy performance, whipping his hair around and swaying hard with the most explosive moments of the set. The throne was later repurposed for Axl Rose to use after breaking his foot before Guns N’ Roses embarked on their ‘Not in This Lifetime…’ tour in 2016.
