Should we be able to legally change our age? Well ladies and gents, Emile Ratelband thinks so. Emile is 69 and lives in the Netherlands.
Why, because he says he would get a lot more attention on Tinder if he was 49 than if he was 69.
"When I’m on Tinder and it say I’m 69, I don’t get an answer."
Emile's doctors had told him that he has a body of a 49 y/o and it seems he has taken it seriously. Emile has now began fighting a legal court case to change his birthday from the 11th of March 1949 to the 11th of March 1969. Authorities are refusing to give him his requests and he is now arguing that if transgender people are allowed to change their sex, why can't he change his age?
Emile is putting up a good fight, explaining: "I have done a check-up and what does it show? My biological age is 45 years."
"When I’m 69, I am limited. If I’m 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work."
"When I’m on Tinder and it say I’m 69, I don’t get an answer. When I’m 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position."
"Transgenders can now have their gender changed on their birth certificate, and in the same spirit there should be room for an age change."
